Joshua proclaimed wonderful words: “…as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” A great desire is rising in my heart to begin the ministry for men in the next year, so they get together, worship and honour God.
Very often, when it comes to serve the Lord, the men reply that they would think about it or will ask wives, or will decide later to serve or not. But here we can see that Joshua acted in a masculine way making this statement. He proclaimed these words not only for his own family, but for all people too.
I’m sure that a new generation of men is rising, who will not ask their wives if they want to be saved or not, but boldly will proclaimed: “Me and my house, we will serve the LORD!” Imagine you and whole your family is on a ship, which begins to sink in the water and drown. What would you do? Will you ask your wife and children if they want to be saved or not? I am convinced that you’ll start wearing them life jackets without asking anything. Also you will not ask your sick child if he/she wants to take medicine or not, but will demand from the child to take it. This is how men should act, boldly make decisions for whole family that they all will be saved and will serve the Lord.
The beginning of Joshua 24:15 words read as follows: “And if it seems evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day….” Today, for many people it’s much nicer to sit in front of TV or twaddle, than to serve the Lord. I am sure that today’s message will help us to understand the pleasure of serving the Lord, and we will be able to proclaim “Me and my house, we will serve the LORD!”
Beloved, life is short. We live in the latter times and so little time left to serve the Lord. Let’s throw a life buoy perished people so that they have a chance to be saved and serve God. The God’s Word says that in recent times it will become certainly obvious difference between people who serve the God and the ones who does not. Amen.
